Roadmap, Competitive Landscape & Success Metrics

Competitive landscape (brief)

Platform Strength Gap HireForGig targets
AspireIQ / Grin / CreatorIQ Deep brand-side campaign analytics, enterprise CRM-style tooling Priced for enterprise brands; SMBs and solo marketers (persona: Rohan) are locked out; heavy, not gig-simple
Fiverr / Upwork Proven marketplace mechanics, escrow, dispute resolution Not built for influencer-specific needs — no audience verification, no platform-native deliverable types, no usage-rights framework
Instagram DMs / WhatsApp (status quo) Zero friction, free, how most deals happen today No trust layer, no payment protection, no discovery beyond who you already know
Local/regional influencer agencies Relationship-driven, curated Manual, doesn't scale, agency takes a large cut with little transparency

HireForGig's wedge: gig-marketplace simplicity (Fiverr-like) + influencer-specific trust infrastructure (audience verification, usage rights, deliverable-type structuring) + accessible to SMBs/individuals, not just enterprise brands.

Phase 0 — Pre-launch (this doc set + design)

Phase 1 — MVP

Goal: prove the core loop works — a creator gets discovered/hired, delivers, gets paid, with real trust/escrow, in one geography/niche.

Included:

Explicitly excluded from MVP (see 00-overview.md "out of scope" and 09-discovery-matching.md):

Launch strategy: supply-first, geo/niche-constrained (e.g., 2–3 creator niches in one Indian city/metro) rather than broad-thin — see 06-business-model.md liquidity note. Recruit an initial creator cohort manually/directly before opening hirer-side marketing, so early hirers get real results, not an empty marketplace.

Phase 2 — Depth & retention

Phase 3 — Scale & intelligence

Success metrics (track from day one, even pre-Phase-2 dashboards)

Marketplace health

Trust/quality

Business

Leading indicators to watch closely at launch (small numbers, but directionally critical): ratio of gig applications per posted gig (too low = supply problem in that niche; too high with low hire rate = pricing/brief-quality problem), and first-30-day creator reactivation rate (are creators coming back after their first gig, or was it a one-time trial).
